The Canyon towers to 270 metres, the shear red rock face sores 100 metres above Cycad gardens.
Saw a pack of wild dogs and dingos near the canyon park and also in the caravan park, they are not afraid of humans, you have to close gates behind you to prevent them getting into the amenities block.
17/04. Joan & Stan left for Alice Springs this morning, only 331km away, we will catch up to them in a couple of days. We had more experiences with dingos today,1 on its own crept up behind a guy who was sitting in a chair outside his tent and snatched a plastic bag of rubbish beside him, 3 other dingos that night walked up beside our van had a look and a sniff then over too the van beside us, walked behind 2 people watching Television, they did not even see them, Sandra and I

18/04. Dingos woke us up early this morning with their howling, it is mating season and they can get very Aggro.
Driving down from kings canyon we were in for a special surprise, 3 or 4 Camels were feeding about 400

So far on this trip we have seen - Kangaroos, Emu's, Koalas, Echidnas, Wedge Tailed Eagles, Brumbies, Dingos, Wild Dogs and Snakes all in there own
environment.
Also at this coffee break we had a talk to a couple of
German tourists, out here on there third trip to the Northern Territory, they just love the place.
Finally off the Uluru - Kings Canyon Diversion a distance of 863km we had lunch at the Erldunda Roadhouse. 1 spring roll, 1 chico roll and an outback pie - $13.00, they can charge whatever they like out here as there is no where else to go?.

So tonight we will dine out under a million stars.
A good nights sleep was had and not another sole about we had the camp to ourselves
Only 90 km to Alice Springs and a
nice park with a great swimming pool. It is the Heavi-tree caravan park.
We have caught up to "Stone & Jan"
and parked next to them.
