Kakadu National Park.

13/5. On our way to Kakadu today. Stopped at Fogg Dam just of the Arnhem highway east of Humpty Doo. Fogg Dam is a huge wetland with all kind of bird life, Crocodiles both Fresh and Salt water, Turtles and Lizards, it was most unusual to see a croc sunning itself on a bank with

a Wallaby only a few feet from it. Leaving the dam we drove into our next camp for 2-3 days, it is at the Corroboree Park Tavern. This is a great, friendly park there are, 2 crocs 1 freshy 1 salty an Albino buffalo as well as a normal black one, a coupe of wild pigs and great birdlife flying over head, except for the birds all animals are caged.

14/5. Went on a cruise to Corroboree Billabong to see the wildlife up close and personal, $25.00 a head now that's good value. Ted a chap from the c/van park was our guide, a very interesting man to listen to, this billabong is huge at 10 kilometers long. Ted invited us back again to do the Sunset Cruise and at no extra charge, we were fortunate to see a couple of Bull Buffalo's in the wild, a 1st for me, plus crocs, sea Eagles and numerous birds, Ted drove the boat right into a creek filled with pink lotus Lilly's, Sandra was very excited to see these Lillie's so close that she could even pick some of them.

17/5. Drove out to the Aurora Kakadu resort, on the way out another bloody flat tyre I will get it repaired in Jabiru. Took a drive out to some more wetlands then back to the resort to book in for the night. Next morning we were off to Jabiru to get that tyre repaired. Instead of waiting for the tyre job to be fixed, we drove out to Ubirr Rock (pronounced O -Beere, in the local dialect) sounds good. Out in this neck of the woods is some of the oldest Aboriginal Rock Art in the world, it was kind of Eerie to be here amongst all this ancient art work, said to be at least 2000 year old, I must also mention that much of the Movie Crocodile Dundee was filmed here. I sat on top of this rock just looking out over the plains and wetlands it was a sight to see, I have always wanted to come here and see it for myself. Oh and Paul Hogan
also sat on this rock. Later on drove into Jabiru to pick up the tyre and then onto Gagudju Lodge at Cooinda to camp for the night. At 6-30 next morning the heavens opened up and it rained solid for about 45 minutes then stopped, Mosquito's came out in the thousands, we were going to stay another day as this camp has an enormous swimming pool to cool off in but the Mossies are more than we can cope with.

19/5. Left kakadu and drove back down to the Riverview caravan park at Katherine to spend 2-3 days Relaxing before we move over the border into West Australia.
