10/05/05. Leaving Brisbane this morning it is 10am and there are still hailstones everywhere, and so much damage but the van is still roadworthy I will get it fixed back in Lake Macquarie some time next year.
We are about 10 minutes down the road heading for Maroochydore when Sandra said that she could smell smoke and I could feel that the car wasn't hauling to well, and then the penny dropped I had not released the hand brake the brake drums were very HOT , but not to worry these things happen?.

We arrived at Maroochy van park at lunch time the site was not too good,- against the back fence and so difficult to back in it had been raining and so boggy. Sandra called into see Norman who lives in this park, he came around for dinner and everything went of well but not 100%, but we got through the night ok. Next morning we walked to the nearby shops and we saw Norm he treated us as though we were strangers passing by it hurt San so much.
Today we drove to the small town of Cotton Tree, it is just up the road and is very expensive to stay there, also went to Mooloolaba to see Underwater World nothing has changed since we were there 20 years ago.

Next day took a trip down to Caloundra and went for a swim on Dickys Beach it is the only patrolled beach in the world that has a shipwreck on it, the ship was named "SS DICKY". San almost had a heart attack - there was a sign saying BEWARE OF SNAKES we were told that Brown Snakes frequent this beach, we did not stay for too much longer, we drove straight back to camp
25/05/05. Crikey we are on our way to see Steve Irwins Australia Zoo at Beerwah, it is the cleanest tourist attraction that we have ever seen, it is spotless. Steve takes great pride in the zoo. We sat in the "Crocoseum" to watch the show, and there Sandra had her first encounter with a live Snake, as it was being carried around by zoo staff I thought she was going to pass out she screamed and told them to please take it away, well not actually it was more like @*&%) it off.
